The Rome Historical Society will host its Annual Dinner & Fundraiser on March 28, 2026, bringing together members, supporters, and community leaders for an evening dedicated to celebrating and preserving Rome’s rich historical heritage.

Now a fully catered evening, the event will feature guest speaker Joe Guiliano of the Rome, N.Y., Department of Public Works.

The program will also include special recognitions, including the presentation of the Medal of Order of 1777 to Dianne and Paul Miller, and the History Maker Award to David Hamar and Beau Pressley for their preservation work at the Arsenal House.

The Annual Dinner serves as one of the Society’s signature events, offering guests the opportunity to reflect on the community’s past while directly supporting ongoing preservation and educational efforts. It is both a celebration of Rome’s history and a reaffirmation of the Society’s commitment to safeguarding it.

“The Annual Dinner is an important tradition for the Rome Historical Society,” said Colin Havener, Executive Director. “It allows us to gather as a community, honor our shared history, and ensure that these stories are preserved for future generations.”

Proceeds from the event support the Society’s mission to collect, protect, and interpret historical artifacts, documents, and sites connected to Rome and the surrounding area. Funds raised help sustain educational programs, exhibitions, and preservation initiatives throughout the year.

The Rome Historical Society invites community members, history enthusiasts, and supporters to attend and take part in this meaningful evening. Join us for a celebration of community—your support helps fuel future exhibits, programs, and preservation efforts that keep Rome’s history alive.
